The number of pregnancy of the patients with complex congenital heart disease is increasing in Japan as the increase of the number of the female patients those who have reached the child-bearing age owing to successful surgical treatment in their childhood.
The pregnancies in the patients after Fontan operation, Atrial Switch Operation (Senning/Mustard), Ventricular Septation, and Double Switch Operartion are still rare even in the world. Our experience and the outcome of those pregnancies long after complex congenital cardiac operations will be presented in this symposium.
Cardiac problems in pregnancy are one of the most important issues in adult congenital cardiology, maternal cardiology/cardiac obstetrics, and also in maternal anaesthesiology. We need to collect knowledge and data as much as possible all over the world especially in these specific postoperative conditions for proper management of pregnancy.
