[1Cp07] Estimation of diffusion-related parameters using genetic algorithm from desorption rates obtained from thermal desorption spectroscopy

One of the methods to investigate the diffusion of nuclides in metallic materials and their desorption behavior from the surface of materials is the thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS), which measures the time variation of desorption rate while heating the material. We are studying a method to simultaneously estimate the concentration distribution of nuclides in a sample and parameters representing their behavior from a single desorption rate spectral data obtained by the TDS using an inverse problem analysis method. In this study, the inverse analysis was performed for simulation data prepared using given parameters, and the profile of the desorption rate spectrum could be simulated with high accuracy. However, in the present analytical model, parameters other than the activation energy differ significantly from the given parameters. This suggests that the other measurement scheme will be required to determine other parameters uniquely.
