[3901-12-08] Study on the leaching of tungsten from spent SCR catalysts for De-NOx by soda roasting process

Many countries has strengthened regulations and concerned about the environment when environmental issues are getting worse. Among these, this study was carried out to finding optimum condition of recycling tungsten from spent SCR catalysts.
Before the experiment, the spent SCR catalysts were analyzed properties & compositions by XRF and ICP-OES. In roasting process, this experiment was carried out by soda roasting known as the most economical method and water leaching. There are five factors used in roasting process: roasting reagent, roasting temperature, roasting time and particle size of the spent SCR catalysts. In water leaching, leaching time, leaching temperature and pulp density are used as factors.
As the results of soda roasting, sodium carbonate that is suitable for this study added 5 equivalent ratio at 850 degree roasting temperature and 120 min roasting time with over 75 micrometer size of spent SCR catalysts. After the roasting, process moved to water leaching. While water leaching process, it is proper at 25 degree leaching temperature and 30min leaching time with 10% of pulp density. The final leaching efficiency showed 94% of in case of tungsten through this study.
