Pharmacists are requested to elicit their ability as a pharmacotherapy specialist in clinical settings. They have contributed on such expectations to clinical care throughout their 6 years of the pharmaceutical educational curriculum. As a result, some clinical questions have newly appeared because their pharmacotherapeutic ability has raised as represented by appearance of a variety of certified pharmacists. Methods to address clinical questions include both a basic research to reveal mechanism at molecular level and a clinical research to prove hypothesis from clinical works. Clinical pharmacist scientists, who have these abilities, are being requested to address such clinical questions and create novel pharmacotherapeutic evidences.
This symposium has been introducing methods to address such novel clinical questions which were posed by clinical pharmacist scientists in some regions, such as oncology, infection control, toxicology, critical care, and psychiatry. In this 3rd symposium, we are going to present methods to address a variety of clinical questions adding drug information and pharmaceutical education, followed by activating research by clinical pharmacists based on discussion of the methodology to contribute a pharmacotherapy evidence to clinical settings.
