Symposium
Tue. Mar 28, 2023 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM [Room E3] Institute for the Advancement of Higher Education: E310 (Bldg. E: 3F)

Because of development of new anti-cancer drugs, such as molecular-targeted drugs and immune checkpoint inhibitors, the life expectancy of cancer patients has much improved and the number of cancer survivors has increased. On the other hand, as cancer survivors increase, side effects caused by cancer treatment are widely recognized as a new issue. Recently, cardiovascular disease has been reported as a serious side effect associated with cancer treatment, which may reduce the quality of life in patients and survivors and is considered to affect their life prognosis. Based on this recent situation, growing attention has been paid to the new interdisciplinary field of “cardio oncology”.
In this session, we have invited experts from non-clinical to clinical fields to give lectures on their cutting-edge research from the viewpoint of prevention and prediction of cardiotoxicity caused by anti-cancer drugs. We hope that this will lead to understand the cardio oncology from bench to clinic and support many cancer patients who are suffering from cardiotoxicity caused by anti-cancer drugs.
