[S13-1] Family Medicine Interest Group: An Experience from Oregon, USA

Emily Joann Jack (Oregon Health & Science University)

Emily Jack is a graduating fourth year medical student whom will be starting her Family Medicine Residency in June of 2019 in Boise, Idaho. She grew up on a 5th Generation cattle ranch and hay farm in rural Oregon. Emily became interested in medicine and specifically primary care through her experiences there. She attended Oregon State University where she received her Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2014, and will graduated as a Medical Doctor from Oregon Health & Science University in June of 2019. She was a leader in Rural and Family Medicine Interest Groups, and helped the School of Medicine advance their rural and primary care training courses. Her interests in medicine include primary care, women’s health, and rural critical care medicine. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, hiking, and traveling.
