The study applied Harmonic Structure (HS) design to a CrMnFeCoNi alloy with varying ultrafine-grained (UFG) fractions. Compression tests at 1073 K at a initial strain rate of 0.01/s compared HS compacts with a homogeneous (Homo) compact. Results showed distinct stress-strain curves: the Homo compact displayed steady deformation post-yielding, while HS compacts softened with strain. Initially, HS compacts formed a "Shell" of smaller misoriented grains, indicating early dynamic recrystallization. This suggests HS compacts undergo selective dynamic crystallization at the "Shell" earlier than Homo compacts during high-temperature deformation, highlighting the unique deformation behaviors influenced by the HS design in this alloy.
