[16B-T6-28] Influences of Different Additions on Laser-Based Additive Manufacturing of Pure Aluminum
キーワード:Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF), Aluminum, Reinforcement additions
Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) is a widely used additive manufacturing technology, gaining increasing attention for fabricating complex metallic parts with intricate designs. Aluminum alloys exhibit significant potential in aerospace, automotive, biomaterials and consumer applications due to their excellent properties. Unfortunately, it is challenging to achieve dense aluminum L-PBF parts due to their inherent properties. Recent studies have highlighted the promising role of composite additions in improving their laser additive manufacturability, effectively reducing porosity and enhancing strength. However, there is a notable absence of systematic studies evaluating the impact of different additions in L-PBF. Therefore, this study aims to compare the effects of three potential addition materials: carbon nanomaterials, oxide nanoparticles, and metals on the performance of Al in L-PBF. The evaluation encompasses powder performance, microstructure, and mechanical properties of the composite builds.
