There have been various problems in realizing three-dimensional hollow shapes by Metal Injection
Molding (MIM) Technology. It is impossible to mold a curved shape inside the product using a sliding
method. Alternatively, it would be possible to make it by press-fitting two parts, but parting line will remain. Also, depending on the required quality, it is foreseen that abnormal noise will occur with
press-fitting products. We have succeeded in developing the integration of hollow shapes using our MIM
technology, and have established mass production technology.
This time, we will explain problems and countermeasures of making the hollow shapes inside MIM
products.
