[15P-T13-06] Sintering Behavior of Aluminum-Graphite and its Effect on Thermal Property Using Spark Plasma Sintering Method
キーワード:Metal-carbon composite, relative density, spark plasma sintering, sintering behavior, thermal property
The study investigated the fabrication of aluminum-graphite (Al-Gf) composites using the spark plasma sintering process. The results showed that the Al-20 vol.% Gf composite achieved the highest relative density of 98%, while the lowest was 92% for the Al-60 vol.% Gf composite. The porosity increased from 2.0 to 8.5% as the Gf content increased, which was attributed to the poor wettability between Al and Gf and the stability of Gf at high temperatures. The thermal conductivity of the composites increased from 198 to 340 W/mK as the Gf content increased, except for the Al-60 vol.% Gf composite, which had a lower thermal conductivity of 260 W/mK due to the higher porosity and orientation of Gf.
