次世代ナトリウム冷却高速炉の1次冷却材中にはベント型制御棒からのヘリウムの放出、1次ポンプ軸周りの遠心力によるカバーガスの巻込みなど、気泡が混入する可能性がある。炉出力変動の原因となる1次冷却材中の気泡を許容値以下に抑えるための対策である1次ポンプのガス巻込み防止及びガス抜き構造を検討し、CFD解析（二相流解析）によりその妥当性を評価した。
