KURAMA-II, known as an evolved version of a carborne gamma-ray survey system KURAMA, has been widely used for the monitoring activities on the air dose rate and the distribution of radioactive contamination. The recent status of developments and applications of KURAMA-II will be introduced, including the development of KURAMA-mini for the emergency situations and the current status of a prompt and easy estimation technique with less disturbance by the radiation from surroundings.
