東京電力株式会社福島第一原子力発電所の使用済燃料貯蔵プールに保管されている使用済燃料の再処理に係る検討の一環として、海水成分が高放射性廃液貯槽材料の腐食に与える影響を評価した。γ線環境において腐食試験を実施し、海水成分が腐食に対して大きな影響を与えないことを確認した
