The rigorous kinetics equations have been derived on the basis of the concept of neutron cycle, neutron life time and neutron multiplication factor involved in a fission chain reaction. The rigorous equations enable the neutron density to be calculated continuously with respect to the reactivity from small reactivities to those greater than the prompt critical value. Our benchmark calculations have verified that the calculation accuracy of the neutron density by the new equations is less than 1%.
