We have developed a grating Ti:Sapphire (Ti:Sa) laser for resonance ionization. A wide tuning range and quick wavelength changes are important properties for trace analysis of radioisotopes. For ease of operation, allowing use by untrained personnel, we implemented computer controlled wavelength selection and stabilization including an intracavity second harmonic generation stage. A demonstration experiment was carried out on stable isotope preparing future research on radionuclides.
