Many kinds of penetration pipes such as CRD housing are installed on a lower head of BWR plant. During a postulated severe accident, those pipes will be melted by attack of molten corium. In order to study a melting procedure of penetration pipe, we performed the CRD housing failure experiment at the KAERI VESTA facility.
