In order to establish reasonable nuclear transmutation methods which enable long-lived fission products (LLFP) to be converted into stable or short-lived nuclides, we have studied the efficiency and feasible design of LLFP transmutation systems by using various beams and accelerator systems based on the PHITS code. We also discuss the necessary nuclear data, the interface between the nuclear data and the PHITS code for this project.
