[2N03] Wavelength Limit and Optical Loss Dependence on the Lasing Wavelength of Kyoto University Mid-infrared Free Electron Laser

A mid-infrared Free Electron Laser (KU-FEL) has been developed at the Institute of Advanced Energy, Kyoto University. The longest wavelength of the FEL was limited to 23 micro-meter. Measurements of optical cavity loss have been performed to understand the limitation. Unexpected increase of cavity loss was observed at the wavelength longer than 15 micro-meter.
