Keywords:Used Nuclear Fuel, Direct Disposal, SiO2, Reflector Effect, OECD/NEA, Benchmark

Huge amount of SiO2 exists around the canister of the Used Nuclear Fuel in the case of the direct disposal. It had been pointed out that the reflector effect of the SiO2 is larger than that of the light water. Authors proposed and coordinated an international benchmark calculation in the Working Party on Nuclear Criticality Safety under the OECD/NEA Nuclear Science Committee in order to evaluate the reflector effect of SiO2.
