[3I04] Recovery of Cs from Contaminated Soil by Subcritical Water containing Metal Ions and Its Solidification using Inorganic Materials for Volume Reduction
(4)Selective Recovery of Cs in Subcritical Treated Water and Vitrification of Cs
Keywords:Cesium, Ferrocyanide, High-silica glass containing solid acid, Vitrification
In this study, practicability of the high-volume reduction and stable immobilization technique of radioactive cesium (Cs) waste was verified. During this process, Cs was desorbed from contaminated soil by high-speed ion exchange with metal ion-containing subcritical water such as an alkaline-earth. The desorbed Cs was adsorbed and vitrified. In this presentation, we report the tests results such as adsorption separation using iron ferrocyanide-based adsorbent and vitrification of Cs in sub-critical treated water, and vitrification of Cs into high-silica glass containing solid acid.
