[3L17] Characterization Study of Candidate Technologies for Nuclear Material Quantification in Fuel Debris at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station II
(4)Active Gamma Method

The author has conducted the development of neutron induced gamma ray spectroscopy as an active gamma technique for the nuclear material quantification in fuel debris formed in Fukushima Dai Ichi Nuclear Power Plant. For the modeled fuel debris and canister presented in (1), responses of NIGS are numerically simulated. In the simulation, the random distribution of the fuel debris, structural materials, and water are directly taken into account since the distribution strongly affect the nuclear reaction rates and the attenuation of gamma rays in the fuel debris.
