NUMOは，サイト調査における一貫した品質マネジメントシステムの構築を進めている。
文献調査の段階では，既存の文献に記載されている地質環境データの品質をその関連情報に基づき評価する。具体的には，地質環境データを取得した場所や試験方法などの関連情報を確認することにより，総合的に評価する。これにより，文献調査段階における一連の取り組みの信頼性の向上を図る。
