Vitrification of spent ion-exchange resin generated in nuclear power plants has been investigated. One of the problems of this technology is contamination of unburned resin in the vitrified products. In this study, the thermal decomposition behaviors of several types of resins were examined by thermal gravimetry and the effect of the addition of inorganic compounds on the decomposition facilitation was evaluated.
