[3B04] Experimental Validation of Neutron Economy Measurement of Blanket at the range of Tritium Breeding Ratio around Unity

Fusion DEMO requires verification of TBR over unity, however no experimental validation has been reported. This study proposes small volumetric fusion neutron source and blanket modules as the research technique equivalent for critical assembly, and report its feasibility. Relatively small flux of neutron can be generated by existing technology, and neutron economy can be measured by the utilization of almost all neutrons to be converted to tritium. Demo blanket with full coverage can be simulated with neutron field and energy spectrum with sufficient accuracy to experimentally evaluate TBR around 1.
