New shielding material was developed by coating the transcendental glass liquid agent dispersed and mixed with tungsten powder on cloth and by heating them. Its radiation shielding performance was measured. For the one-tenth value layer to 100 keV X ray, the weight of tungthten-coated cloth was nearly the same as that of lead. Moreover, measurements using a cesium 137 gamma-ray source showed that the radiation shielding ratio of creped cloth was more than twice as much as that of the flat one. Comparing with regard to equal weight, it was some ten percent higher than flat one, and equal to or better than lead. Thus, it can be said that cremation processing is useful for improving shielding performance. In addition, using this crepe cloths, we made a radiation shielding overall with a short sleeve and half pants. Its weight was 10.5 kg, which was lighter than conventional products, and easy to wear and remove. As a result of measuring its shielding performance with a cobalt 60 radiation source, a shielding ratio of 40% or more was obtained in the scattering field where direct rays of the source was not coming.
