103Pd (T1/2 = 16.991 d) is a medical radioisotope (RI) and available for brachytherapy. For the effective production of the RI, a variety of reactions should be investigated for comparison. They can also include reactions to produce 103Ag (T1/2 = 65.7 min), a parent of 103Pd. A process to produce 103Ag is deuteron-induced reactions on natural palladium, which have only been studied up to 20.3 MeV. Therefore, we measured activation cross sections of the reaction using a 24 MeV deuteron beam at the AVF cyclotron of the RIKEN RI Beam Factory. The target consisted of stacked foils of natural palladium and titanium and was irradiated for 20 min. The activation cross sections could be obtained from the gamma-line measured by HPGe detectors. We found that our result is in good agreement with the previous data up to 20.3 MeV, and also obtained the data at higher energies.
