In a de-nitration conversion processes of the nuclear fuel cycle, mixed oxides (MOX) are produced from the reprocessing solution (plutonium and uranium mixed nitrate solution) of used nuclear fuel by the microwave heating (MH) method. In the MH using a cylindrical vessel, transient boiling phenomena such as overflow was confirmed. Hence the extensive understanding of transient boiling phenomena induced by MH method is important. The aim of this study is to clarify transient boiling phenomena and detailed mechanism of flushing and overflow. The mechanism of flushing phenomena was assumed by detailed observation at nucleation. Water temperature are measured by a fiber-optic thermometer and thermography, and the relationship of the heat quantity before and after the flushing phenomena was evaluated. Eventually the mechanism of flushing phenomena was examined.
