MPS method (one of the particle methods) is being developed for mechanistic modeling of
ex-vessel corium behavior (spreading and MCCI) by combining with scale-effect test and the
basic UO2 fuel property experiment. The program overview and progress on spreading
analysis by MPS method, including the newly developed crust model and its applications, will be reported.
