[1H13] Countercurrent Flow Limitation in a Pressurizer Surge Line

*Michio Murase1, Koji Nishida1, Takayoshi Kusunoki1, Raito Goda2, Akio Tomiyama2 (1. Institute of Nuclear Safety System, Inc., 2. Kobe University)

Keywords:Pressurizer surge line, Upper end of vertical pipe, Countercurrent flow limitation

Countercurrent flow limitation (CCFL) data recently reported for the sharp-edged upper end of vertical pipes and a pressurizer surge line were evaluated to confirm effects of those data on the previously proposed CCFL correlation. Inclusion of those data increased uncertainty of the CCFL constant in the Wallis type correlation, but effects on the previously proposed correlation were relatively small.
