We are developing an accident tolerant fuel using a silicon carbide composite. Non-destructive inspection methods are being investigated besides manufacturing technologies in this development. Feasibility study of an eddy current testing was started as a part of that investigation. We conducted defect detection tests for silicon carbide specimens and listed problems as an inspection method.
