Highly selective methods for the analysis of the radionuclide Ca-41 are required to identify the appropriate waste stream of material in nuclear decommissioning. Here we present progress on the development of a laser system targeting an un-studied resonance ionization scheme, and making use of polarization selectivity optics that will aim to improve on calcium isotope selectivity thus far reported.
