[2J12] Fundamental Study on Simple Reprocessing Method for Spent Thorium Fuels by Using Uranium-Selective Precipitant
(4) Mutual Separation of U(VI) and Th(IV) by Using Double-Headed 2-Pyrrolidone Derivatives

Here, we studied mutual separation of U(VI) and Th(IV) through selective precipitation using double-headed 2-pyrrolidone derivatives (DHNRP) specially designed as U(VI)-selective precipitant. Consequently, we have found that the separation behavior strongly depends on the molecular structure of DHNRP, and that several choices of U/Th recovery are available, i.e., (1) selective recovery of U(VI), (2) selective recovery of Th(IV), and (3) collective recovery of U(VI) and Th(IV).
