[2O12] The AP1000® Plant Startup Test Program

The AP1000 plant is the pressurized water reactor adopting the passive safety concept relies on natural forces - gravity, natural circulation and compressed gases. In the event of a design-basis accident, the AP1000 plant is designed to achieve and maintain safe shutdown condition without operator action for the first 72 hours.

The first AP1000 plants are nearly complete at Sanmen and Haiyang in China, and startup test is now underway. This paper describes the confirmation results before the fuel loading at the first of a kind testing.
