A safety design concept of pool-type sodium-cooled fast reactor was investigated based on the Safety Design Criteria and Safety Design Guideline formulated by Generation IV International Forum. Design concept of the major safety facilities such as those for reactor shutdown, decay heat removal and reactor containment were clarified taking the pool-type design features into account.
