[3E06] Development of MA-Zr hydride for early realization of transmutation of nuclear wastes
(6) Examination of cooling capability during handling of MA-Zr hydride target assembly
Keywords:MA-Zr hydride, MA transmutation, allowable cladding temperature, target assembly, sodium bond, wrapping wire, air cooling, thermal-hydraulics analysis
An MA-Zr hydride target assembly has been currently designed to develop an MA nuclear transmutation system. The assembly is handled and transported in an atmospheric condition, and always managed by vertically standing position. In this study, the heat removal capability by air up-flow supplied to the assembly is examined through the thermal-hydraulics analysis.
