[1C13] The effect of salt concentration on the diffusion of anions in Boom Clay

*Yuya Mizukami1, Shingo Tanaka2, Naoko Watanabe2, Tamotsu Kozaki2, Yosuke Akagi3 (1. Graduate School of Engineering Hokkaido University, 2. Faculty of Engineering Hokkaido University, 3. Mitsubishi Materials Corporation)

Keywords:radioactive waste disposal, Boom Clay, diffusion, anion, salt concentration

Non-stationary-state diffusion experiments with anions were conducted using Boom Clay saturated with solutions of different salt concentrations. Apparent diffusion coefficients and the activation energy of diffusion were obtained, and the effects of ionic strength on diffusion of anions in Boom Clay were discussed.
