An advanced transmutation method with MA-Zr hydride is being studied to reduce environment burden due to nuclear wastes. This study shows that an americium (Am) transmutation performance, which is an issue on MA disposal with a nuclear reactor until now, was able to be greatly raised within the acceptable ranges of the conventional fast reactor technologies by employing a cylinder-type three-enrichment core arrangement by cooling targets in the neutron shielding area, etc..
