This study develops the reduced order modeling (ROM) using singular value decomposition for fast estimation of the results of a safety analysis code. In the previous study, ROM was applied to the station black out with the total loss of feedwater capabilities for BWR, which is categorized as a severe accident. However, there are many accidents considered in statistical safety analysis. Therefore, it is desirable that ROM is applied to other accident scenarios. The purpose of this study is to expand an application range of ROM for design basis accidents in statistical safety analysis and to show the validity of ROM. In this presentation, ROM is applied to the time-series data of core power in the load rejection accident with an open failure of turbine bypass valve for a BWR, which is categorized as a design basis accident. In order to validate the effectiveness of ROM, the maximum core power between ROM and RELAP5/SCDAPSIM are compared.
