In case of core melt accident in Joyo, molten fuel will be caught by a graphite block in the safety vessel. A chemical reaction between molten fuel and graphite was studied using the thermodynamic equilibrium calculation code FactSage. It was confirmed that graphite isn't encroached on rapidly in condition of mixing fuel material, a coolant sodium and structural material (SUS).
