[1L07] Nitrogen Concentration Dependence of Corrosion of SS316L in Liquid Lithium

The lithium loop of IFMIF (International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility) is designed by adopting SS316L.In this study, therefore, we aimed to investigate the nitrogen concentration dependence of corrosion of SS316L in lithium and the corrosion mechanism by immersion experiment of SS316L.
As a result, it was shown that the weight loss of the SS316L specimens increased almost linearly with the nitrogen concentration in lithium. SEM/EDX and XPS analyses revealed that the corrosion behavior is dependent on nitrogen concentration.
