[1N04] Study on shielding performance for an accelerator-driven transportable neutron source

The purpose of this study is to optimize shielding structure for a transportable neutron source by calculations with the PHITS code under development of RANS-II. It is shown that 5 % borated polyethylene and lead are suitable materials, and two layers for each materials, with 10cm and 5cm thicknesses, respectively, give an optimized performance.
