[2B16] Adsorption characteristics of cesium on sodium titanosilicate in washing solution of cesium-enriched fly ash
Keywords:sodium titanosilicate, cesium removal, fly ash, Fukushima Dai-ich nuclear accident
The Cs adsorption characteristics of sodium titanosilicate were measured in the spent washing solution of Cs-enriched fly ash that was generated by pyroprocessing decontamination of 137Cs-contaminated waste. It was revealed that coexisting potassium ions strongly suppressed the adsorption of cesium, though sodium ions moderated the suppression effect. To use the titanosilicate as a Cs adsorbent in ion chromatographic decontamination of the washing solution was estimated to reduce the weight of the radioactive waste to 1/10,000 of the original one.
