The system that cools spent fuel pools (SFP) without using electricity is developing as a safety measure for nuclear power plants. There are several studies about the cooling system using loop heat pipe. However, those were made under the assumption that the temperature in the pool was not stratified. In this research, I devised the system resolving temperature stratification by injecting air with no power supply and conducted experiments to clarify its effect.
