To develop the FP removal process for treatment of spent molten salt solvent used in the pyrometallurgical reprocessing of MA-containing metal fast reactor fuel, feasibility study on electrochemical recovery of rare earth and alkaline earth FPs in molten salt solvent into liquid Ga cathode was carried out. Since the current efficiency of alkakine earth FP recovery was found quite low, alternative cathode material was also examined. Observation of oxidation behavior of halogens at the anode side indicated a possibility of selective recovery of iodine from the molten salt solvent.
