To clarify gas-entrainment phenomena from liquid surface vortexes, velocity measurement and CFD analysis in a circulating water tank were performed to evaluate the predictability of surface vortexes. It was clarified the detail flow velocity profile at the inlet by the measurements. And, it was found that the analysis predicted appropriately the surface vortex frequency of the experimental results.
