HLW顆粒体の貯蔵時化学的安定性に関して、吸湿させた模擬顆粒体へのガンマ線照射を行ったところ放射線分解によるNOxやH2の発生が増えることがわかり、顆粒体製造後は湿潤空気になるべく触れさせずにキャニスタに封入する必要があることがわかった。
