高速炉の燃料損傷時の再臨界防止のため、軸芯部に中性子吸収体を包含する軸芯燃料の開発を進めている。溶融時に軸芯部の中性子吸収体を均質に分散させるため、代替物質による評価試験を通して適切な軸芯燃料構造を検討し、軸芯燃料の材料的な成立性を評価した。
