The Pu enriched metal fuel more than 10% is charged in a core, and cooled by the lead.
The neutron energyy spectrum is so hard that the neutrons in the core are absorbed much more by the pultonium and produced heat, energy and neutrons. If the ratio of Pu to U in the initial core is about 10%, Pu contents are keep constant and reactivity of the core is also keep same values. By this way, the reactor core sustaines criticality more than 10 years.
