Intense negative muon source MERIT (Multiplex Energy Recovery Internal Target) for the nuclear transmutation to mitigate long lived fission products has been proposed. Proof-of-principle beam experiment of MERIT scheme is being carried out at KURNS. The experimental results so far obtained will be reported in this conference.
