MHI is developing the three-dimensional heterogeneous transport calculation code GALAXY-Z based on planar MOC. In order to improve calculation accuracy of GALAXY-Z in large neutron streaming geometries, the angular–flux-based transverse leakage approximation is applied to GALAXY-Z. We confirmed that the angular–flux-based transverse leakage approximation can well predict reference Monte-Carlo code results in comparison with the conventional current-based transverse leakage approximation through the TAKEDA benchmark calculations.
